Octane Fitness is a company founded by a couple of guys from Life Fitness and dedicated to manufacturing elliptical trainers only. Octane quickly became well known for producing high class elliptical trainers, both residential and commercial units.

Octane fitness is present on the market since 2001. and they still have a lot to learn about manufacturing and marketing elliptical trainers. Their focus is on quality and durability of elliptical trainers that will endure in time. Octane Fitness made good results so far but they still have many problems to solve. For example, wearing parts on their machines are known to malfunction rather quickly, so you have to call customer service and have it replaced. You also should use lubricants on wearing parts such as tracks, to keep the elliptical trainer highly functional. One other very common issue is the clanking noise which has something to do with main flywheel axle. This happens "randomly" - if you're lucky enough, you can own a model for years and never notice this problem, but there are models that develop the clanking noise within the first month. This should be the first problem that Octane Fitness should take care of.

Octane ellipticals could be compared to Precor and Life Fitness in many features and you will have to pay a similar amount of money for Octane as for the models of mentioned manufacturers. To be sure which one of them suits you best, try exercising on them in your local gym or wherever you get the chance for it. At this price level, that's the most important thing - the quality is there, you just need to find your perfect match.
